I decided to participate in a knitting project with other blog followers of Rhonda Jean at :
http://down---to---earth.blogspot.com/2009/03/lets-begin-knit-along.html
Rhonda asked for a couple of easy knitting stitch patterns using a multiple of 4 stitches. Here are three:
TRINITY STITCH:
Row 1 (right side): Purl across.
Row 2: * (K1, P1, K1) all in the next stitch, P3 together. Repeat from * across.
Row 3: Purl across.
Row 4: * P3 together, (K1, P1, K1) all in the next stitch. Repeat from * across.
Repeat these four rows for pattern until you reach the desired length.
TRIANGLE WEAVE:
Row 1 (right side): K1, P1 to end of row.
Row 2: K1, P1 to end of row.
Row 3: P1, K1 to end of row.
Row 4: P1, K1 to end of row.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern until you reach the desired length.
BASKET WEAVE:
Row 1 (Right side): Knit across.
Row 2: Purl across.
Row 3: P3, K2, (P2, K2) across to last 3 stitches. P3.
Row 4: K3, P2, (K2, P2) across to last 3 stitches. K3.
Row 5: Knit across.

Have fun!!!!
I'll be trying one of these later today. I hope some of the other knitters look in too. I appreciate your help, lilmom, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the knitters, I'll see if I can follow these instructions..they look simple enough.
ReplyDeleteThank you for these lilmom, they will be very helpful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lilmom, you are an inspiration !I came from Rhonda's blog & will be trying these
ReplyDeletealso ! Jeni
I tried the Triangle Wave last night & loved it. Very easy pattern to knit, looks pretty, and it didn't distort the size of my square (same number of stitches came out the same size as my stocking stitch square).
ReplyDeleteI started a Trinity Stitch one as well - it's also looking good after only 6 rows.
Thank you again for sharing these patterns.
Toria, I'm so pleased that these patterns are working out well for you. I wanted to knit them up and post the directions with pictures, but I thought it was more important to get the directions out. If you notice that any of your squares tighten up to a smaller size - like the rib knit patterns do, simply use needles 2 sizes larger than you are using on your 'flat' squares...they should come out pretty close!
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know of your success so far.
Rhonda, Jeni, and BettyR - thanks for coming by to try these out. I'll be looking for your results down the road.
I appreciate any feedback on these patterns to now if I need to make any adjustments.
Thanks. lilmom
